The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley (MALV) is a dynamic Islamic community committed to spiritual growth, community involvement, and social justice. We are looking for an enthusiastic Youth Director to lead our youth programs.





Role Overview


The Youth Director will design and manage innovative programs that empower young Muslims and foster leadership skills. This position requires strategic planning, effective program execution, and active community engagement. The ideal candidate is a passionate communicator and educator who can organize impactful events and train volunteers within the Lehigh Valley community.

Responsibilities & Expectations

Program Development


a. Create and assess youth programs that cater to the needs of young Muslims.

b. Maintain a roadmap of events with regular progress checks.

c. Encourage personal growth, Islamic education, and community service.

d. Organize activities such as study sessions, workshops, retreats, and sports events.


Leadership and Mentorship


a. Recruit, develop, and retain local youth, empowering them to lead and take

ownership of the Center's programs.

b. Provide guidance on applying Quranic principles to daily life, foster pride in Muslim

identity, and teach about Muslim contributions to science and technology.

c. Assist youth in resolving conflicts, overcoming challenges, and developing positive

behaviors.

d. Build and maintain strong relationships with local Muslim organizations, MSAs,

parents, and the wider community.

e. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and Islamic principles among

participants and volunteers.

Qualifications

Education


a. Minimum one year of formal Islamic education or equivalent certification.

b. Basic literacy of Tafsir, Seerah and Fiqh, with their applications in society.


Experience & Skills


a. Experience in managing youth programs for diverse populations.

b. Ability to deliver engaging lectures and relate to youth challenges.

c. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives effectively.

d. Proficiency in technology and social media.

e. Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).


Nice to Have


a. Quran memorization and recitation skills.

b. Multilingual abilities (preferably Arabic, Urdu, or Bengali etc.).

c. Experience with Maktab programs or Islamic schools.

d. College degree from an accredited institution.

Salary & Benefits

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week. We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
