The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley is seeking qualified and dependable Part-Time Security Officers to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for worshippers, community members, staff and visitors.
Position Summary
The Security Officer will provide on-site security and safety services during religious services, educational programs, community events, and other activities held on MALV premises.
Schedule
Friday Jumu'ah Prayers
Evening Prayers and Programs
Weekend Activities
Special Events and Community Gatherings
Additional hours as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and patrol mosque property and surrounding grounds.
Maintain a visible security presence during services and events.
Control access points and monitor visitor entry.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activities.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders when necessary.
Assist with crowd management and traffic control during large gatherings including Jumah prayers.
Prepare written incident and security reports.
Conduct routine security inspections of facilities and grounds.
Ensure compliance with MALV safety and security procedures.
Maintain confidentiality regarding security matters and organizational operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum age of 21 years.
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Ability to legally work in the United States.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, early mornings, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, emergency services, or related fields.
CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
Experience working with faith-based organizations or community centers.
Knowledge of emergency response and incident management procedures.
Firearm Requirements
Possess a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms (LTCF).
Possess any required certifications, licenses, and training required by Pennsylvania law for armed security personnel.
Successfully pass all required background investigations and screening procedures.
Demonstrate proficiency and safe handling of firearms.
Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding firearms.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
